Tupac Amaru Shakur born Lesane Parish Crooks; June 16, (1971) East Harlem, New York, US. He is also known as by his stage name 2Pac and Makaveli he was an American rapper and actor, activists, poet, record producer. Shakur has sold over 75 million records worldwide, with the bulk of that coming after his death; seven of his 11 platinums were released posthumously. As recently as (2007 )Shakur’s estate banked $9 million-more than Eminem or 50 cent made ever. He has been listed and ranked as one of the greatest artists of all time by many magazines ranked as one of the top greatest rappers as well as the most influential rappers of all time. Shakur began his career as a roadie, backup dancer, and MC for the alternative hip hop group Digital Underground, eventually branching off as a solo artists. Shakur's songs revolved around violence and hardships in inner cities, racism and other social problems. Both of his parents and several other of his family members were members of the Black Panther Party, whose ideas reflected in his songs.
